Is This Country Headed for an Ugly Crash? — Editorial — by Trent Loos

So much has been said about the presidential campaign, is there really anything left to say? I happen to believe there are volumes that seemingly go unsaid, thanks to one-sided media coverage, so I will be like everybody else with a platform and throw in my 2 cents worth.

trump-hooters-1First off, is anyone at all surprised about some “hot mic” conversation that Donald J. Trump had 11 years ago? If you have been paying attention, then nothing should surprise you at this point. What does surprise me is that the Hollywood crowd that is in such an uproar is, ironically, in the business of making money by producing television and movies filled with the very actions Trump spoke of. But again, is anybody surprised by Hollywood hypocrisy? NO!

More importantly, I am concerned about the reaction by the “Republican” base. For those who are now calling for Trump to step down in his bid for President, I am here to tell you that you are part of the problem not part of the solution. This list, as I write this column, currently includes both of my U.S. Senators.

This really has nothing to do with some hot mic comments made over a decade ago. This has everything to do with the establishment politicians circling the wagons. The rationale for my belief that those Republicans are part of the problem and not the solution is simple. The Republican system for nomination of President of the United States includes a primary to establish delegates and then select the individual, at the will of the people, to represent them.

I personally don’t believe Donald Trump won that nomination because people love him as a person. They have been moved by someone willing to speak his mind and not cave in on his beliefs to the “political machine.” The political machine no longer represents the everyday working people of this country. Now the people have spoken and the political machine is outraged.

While we argue about what he said/she said or he did/she did, my family and millions of others continue to receive UNAFFORDABLE health care bills and ridiculous insurance premiums because of a health care plan that Congress brought down upon its citizens while somehow managing to provide special provisions for them.

A provision that was challenged in court and upheld by Superior Court Judge Herbert B. Dixon Jr. who said “federal regulations issued by the Obama administration permitted denizens on Capitol Hill to take advantage of the insurance portal.”

tyranny-grass-march-1In the real world of producing something that the people need like food, fiber, pharmaceuticals and fuel, real people are struggling. They are struggling with a completely out-of-control government acting through the EPA, the Dept. of Labor and the Fish and Wildlife Service to name just a few.

This nation, built on the promise of “the pursuit of happiness,” never intended happiness to be guaranteed via government delivery. I challenge you to find me one single company or family operation that is not struggling to find willing workers in today’s society. That is most likely because the 2011 U.S. Census report found that 52% of the nation now takes some form of government assistance. Why work when someone will pay you not to work and give you “free” healthcare, “free” childcare and “free” education?

The EPA and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are working as a tag team in the greatest wrestling match of all time as they continually erode the Constitutional Right of property owners. Property rights are my ability to use my property as I see fit to provide not only for my family but for the 320 million people who call this great nation home. Instead, folks in DC think they know better despite all their failed attempts to control things. Look at the nearly defunct postal service, the insurance companies that are bailing out of the marketplace, the energy industries that are being run out of existence. Where does it stop?

We lived on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota for 5 years and I saw up close and personal how a two class society works. We are headed there so fast that we can’t even read the signs along the road. The detours and roadblocks being placed there by our “leaders,” and enhanced by 24/7 media sensationalism, serve as a distraction to keep you from focusing on the most important core values that built this nation. A Representative Republic was what our founders intended and is still my idea of how this country is supposed to work It seems that the establishment on both sides of the aisle fear the head-on crash that is coming.
