“Ranches hold the west together.”
SAVING THE LAST CATTLE DRIVE
The Green River Drift cattle drive has a history that goes back more than a hundred years. This important seasonal movement of cattle is now threatened by the artificial introduction of grizzly bears into the rangelands and forests where the cattle have traditionally grazed. “Substantial losses” of cattle of up to 14-percent are devastating ranchers, due in part to the fact that the grizzly populations are fully-recovered, and growing. Nonetheless, radical activists continue to fight in the courts to protect these large and prolific predators which are no longer endangered. ~Ed
