Santa is a Ranching Man

Santa is a Ranching Man

Poem by Evelyn Roper

Santa is a Ranching Man

Santa is a ranching man

He and his help work all year through

Although sometimes his hands are” green”

They`re “Top” in all they do

Santa is a ranching man

He raises and culls a list of girls and boys

The harvest? Gifts to the good ones

Of special, hand-picked toys

Santa is a ranching man

Here is one more reason why

He drives a sleigh with his best team

(Even trained them how to fly!)

It could be argued- of clothes and things

His attire: boots, a belt and hat

The dressing makes Santa a ranching man

But that`s not where it’s at

He watches the weather and still goes out

To work in the rank and cold

Under the stars (or a blanket of snow)

When surely it gets old

But tradition runs strong when one knows that it`s right

So, to all across the land

“Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night”

From Santa, The Ranching Man!

-and Christmas
